Finca Monte Alto is one of two farms run by Café Directo, a family project started in 2013 by father and daughter team Gerardo and Jennifer Arias. Their focus is simple — to grow and process exceptional Tarrazú coffees in balance with nature, and to do so with honesty and care.

With over thirty years of experience, Gerardo and Jennifer bring deep knowledge to every step of production. At Monte Alto, they experiment with a range of processes — from natural and honey to anaerobic and washed — always aiming to bring out the unique character of each lot.

The name Monte Alto means “high mountain,” and it fits perfectly. Sitting at altitudes up to 2,000 meters above sea level, this farm enjoys ideal conditions for slow-ripening coffee cherries, resulting in complex, vibrant, and aromatic cups that truly reflect the Tarrazú region.
